Lionel in the Fall

Lionel in the Fall

Stephen Krensky

In this book Lionel was going to school on the first day. He had a new teacher and he was shy. The teacher asked the kids to introduce themselves. When the teacher got up to Lionel. Lionel whispered and whispered and after that he screamed “I`M LIONEL!!!” and he continued screaming, “AND I HATE STANDING UP HERE AND TALKING INFRONT OF EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!” The teacher was reminded of when she was a little girl and after that she said to the class, “Instead of talking why don’t we write it in a note.” Lionel had a lot to say in writing !!!! I think people should read this book. I gave this book a 10 out of ten!

The Doorbell Rang

The Doorbell Rang
by Pat Hutchins

We read this book to help us study fair shares in math. The book starts out with Mom baking her kids 12 cookies. She tells them to share the cookies fairly, so they each get six. BUT, then the doorbell rang and more kids came in so they had to split the cookies again. The pattern repeated until each kid ended up with 1 cookie each. So how many kids ended up coming over?

We would highly recommend this book. It was an easy story to follow and really helped us learn about fair shares.

We give this book a 9 out of 10.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
by Jeff Kinney

Keeping a journal was not Greg's idea! His mom forced him to. In his journal he tells us all about his life. Things about school, family, and friends. Unfortunately, not everything turns out the way Greg had planned it to. But fortunately for us everything ends up being hysterical! We would highly recommend this book to all readers. It was very funny! We laughed every time we read it. So that's why you should read it too!

We give this book a 10 out of 10.

Mr. Putter and Tabby Bake the Cake

Mr. Putter and Tabby Bake the Cake
By Cynthia Rylant

Mr. Putter and Tabby were looking out of their window and dreaming. They liked winter because of Christmas. They were thinking of what to get for Mrs. Teaberry he was wondering what Mrs. Teaberry liked. He wonders if she liked coconut juice in a toy monkey head. Mr. Putter didn’t have ingredients for a cake and he didn't know how to make a cake. Mr. Putter went to the store and bought ingredients to make a cake he did not have a pan. He went back to the store and got a pan and went back home and made his cake and on Christmas Eve night Mr. Putter went over to Mrs. Teaberry’s house and gave her her present and ate it. Mr. Putter and Tabby and Zeke were looking out of the window. My recommendation is that it’s a funny book and a great book for kids
I give this book 9 out of 10.

A Look At Spiders

A Look At Spiders
By Jerald Hapen
The story is about spiders it tells me interesting facts about spiders like the dangerous
spider is the black widow and the poison is stronger then a rattlesnake. Water spiders trap a bubble under water so they can eat the other bugs in the water. Spiders can be bigger than a quarter that is very big right! My recommendation is that little kids should read this book if they want to learn more about spiders. I give this book a ten out of ten.
